		Heavy Industry Land Use Group The heavy industry sector includes industries like oil and gas, pulp and paper, mining, manufacturing and waste disposal. Each industry contains many companies who work hard to create the energy and products we use everyday. 		Agriculture Land Use Group The agricultural sector includes people who depend on industry and consumers to make their living. It includes ranchers, livestock operators, crop farmers, specialty farmers and forest growers and managers. This group needs quality soil to care for their plants, trees and animals. 		Land Development Land Use Group The land development sector includes people who turn raw land into something meaningful for people and sometimes animals. These companies build houses, roads, parks and golf courses as well as office and shopping buildings. This group needs soil that can be packed down to create a solid foundation. 		Legal/Political Land Use Group The legal/political sector includes all three levels of government: federal, provincial and municipal. It also includes interest groups like aboriginal people and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). The political side of this group must find a careful balance between growth of industry, construction and agriculture with the environment. As the middle party they listen to special interest groups who need soil to fulfill their needs. Government must often make difficult decisions. » Legal/Political Land Use Group
